Filmmaker/Actores Aisha Sulthana has approached the High Court of Kerala seeking anticipatory bail in the case of sedition.

  • The FIR registered in Kavaratti Police Station under Section 124A(sedition) and 153B (acts against national integration) of the Indian Penal Code.

  • Aisha Sultana made the remarks during a discussion on a TV news channel on June 7 about the Lakshadweep Administrator which has led to public protests on the islands.

  • She had stated that the Administrator had used ‘bio-weapon against islanders.

  • She has been charged under section 124A (Sedition) and 153B

  • She has been asked to appear before the Kavaratti police on June 20.
